What is a Blog?

A weblog, or “blog” for short, is an online journal that provides web users with information, generally on a daily basis. A blog’s subject can range from the day-to-day musings of individuals, to op-ed pieces, to reports of world events as they break. A blog’s tone can range from stately to sarcastic, with shades of gray in between. Writers of blogs are called “bloggers” and the writing act itself is called “blogging.” A list of blogs is called a “blogroll.”
